Newark, NJ — Today, the Laundry, Distribution & Food Service Joint Board (LDFS), Workers United, SEIU announces its endorsement of Patricia Campos Medina for United States Senate.  Her unwavering dedication and advocacy for working families and her record of standing up for women’s rights, accessible education for all, and sensible and fair treatment of immigrant families make us confident of her ability to work effectively to find solutions to the important challenges facing our country.

“Patricia Campos Medina has spent decades fighting for and winning policies to improve the lives of working people in New Jersey,” said Alberto Arroyo, Co-Manager of the Laundry, Distribution and Food Service Joint Board.  “We are proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.”

“Patricia Campos Medina has always been there for working people.  She stood with our members in Newark school cafeterias in tough times when we had to struggle just for a living wage and basic fairness,” said Dorothy Lovelace, President of Local 3, an affiliate of LDFS union. “Patricia comes from an immigrant family, a blue collar family that had to struggle to survive.  She understands what working families go through and she does what it takes to make sure workers get treated fairly.  On Primary day, June 4, New Jerseyans should vote for Patricia Campos Medina for U.S. Senate,” concluded Ms. Lovelace.

The Laundry, Distribution and Food Service Joint Board (LDFS) is a labor union affiliated with Workers United, SEIU.  LDFS represents thousands of front-line service workers in New Jersey including warehouse distribution center workers, industrial laundry workers, food service workers, and workers employed by local government in the Newark area.
