The Zita Group Welcomes Karlito Almeda

The Zita Group (TZG) is pleased to announce that Karlito Almeda has joined the firm as Vice President. Karlito brings a wealth of experience in navigating the complexities of New Jersey politics and policy, making him a valuable asset in providing legislative and public affairs advice to our clients. Karlito will provide direct lobbying, strategic planning and advocacy services to our clients.

Karlito joins us from Advanced Energy United, a national clean energy business association.  He worked as a senior policy principal and developed strategies to advance renewable energy policies across New Jersey and New York. His expertise spanned various areas, including distributed energy resources, building and transportation electrification, and carbon emission reductions.

Prior to this experience, Karlito served as a Policy Aide to Commissioners Bob Gordon and Dianne Solomon at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, leading strategic reviews of clean energy policies and utility regulations. For several years, he also served as Legislative Director to then-Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, overseeing policy issues such as transportation and healthcare, and negotiating landmark policies like the Reproductive Freedom Act.

Karlito began his career as a congressional casework representative for Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr, working to resolve constituents’ concerns on matters like veterans’ affairs and immigration.

Karlito holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

In welcoming him to the firm, TZG CEO Trish Zita said, “Karlito is widely recognized throughout the State and across the political spectrum as a trustworthy and knowledgeable professional. We believe his experience in managing and directing complex issues, as well as his familiarity with state government will make him a great asset to our clients. We’re excited to have Karlito join us and bring his talent and expertise to our team!”
