AARP Unveiling New “Stop Rx Greed” Campaign
(TRENTON, NJ) – This Thursday, July 13th, over 300 AARP members are coming into Trenton from all over New Jersey for the annual AARP “Day At The Capitol.” Senate President Steve Sweeney, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and other legislative and governmental leaders are scheduled to address the attendees.
Additionally, AARP is set to unveil its “Stop Rx Greed” campaign to members via a panel discussion on “Lowering Prescription Drug Prices.” AARP Advocates from Florida and Maryland will describe their recent victories to import prescription drugs from Canada and establish a state-based Prescription Drug Affordability Board.

It will feature Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo and Banking & Insurance Commissioner Marlene Caride (invited) discussing the implementation of Paid Sick Days, NJ’s Expanded Paid Family Leave Program and protections for healthcare consumers from surprise medical bills.
