HIGHTSTOWN, NJ - April 28th, 2025

With NJ's Primary Election underway, the Hightstown Democratic Committee has announced its candidates for Borough Council. Councilman Todd Frantz will be seeking re-election, joined by first-time candidate Stephanie Spann.

Todd and Stephanie are both long-time residents of Hightstown with a history of volunteerism. During his first term on council, Todd has served as liaison to the Borough's Environmental Commission and First Aid Squad. With a professional background as an environmental consultant and project manager, Todd brings a valuable perspective to our Borough government.

Stephanie is an active member of the Borough's Cultural Arts Commission and formerly the Parks & Recreation Commission. If you have attended one of Hightstown's "Fun Fridays", you may recognize her as the coordinator of this event series. Stephanie also is the current Exalted Ruler of Hightstown Elks Lodge #1955.

Todd and Stephanie are focused on long-term improvements to Hightstown. The Borough is halfway through a 10-year overhaul of its water and sewer infrastructure - a once-in-a-century effort that will require steady leadership and an eye for detail. There are also signs of progress on redevelopment of Hightstown's vacant industrial properties, adding importance to the role of Borough Council over the next few years.

Hightstown's Democratic Chairman, Matt Morgan, is enthusiastic about this year's election, stating "We are excited to have Stephanie Spann join the ticket. It's very rare to have a first-time candidate step up with so much experience. With the Governor’s seat on the ballot, there will be a lot of attention on this year’s elections, making it more important than ever to field a strong slate of Borough Council candidates."
