Trenton to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo This Weekend with Two Events
TRENTON, N.J. – The City of Trenton will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Friday, May 3 and Sunday, May 5.
The May 3 celebration will take place on South Warren Street between East State Street and Lafayette Street from 5-8 p.m. The May 5 event will take place at Agabiti Plaza on the corner of Roebling and Whittaker Avenues from 2-7 p.m.
“I encourage everyone to come out and celebrate the holiday and enjoy all the great food, music, and fun that Trenton has to offer,” said Mayor Reed Gusciora. “Trenton is a melting pot, and we’re excited to host these cultural celebrations and show the region how much fun Trenton is.”
The May 3 event is co-hosted by the Trenton Downtown Association while the May 5 celebration is co-hosted by the Latino Merchant Association of New Jersey.
Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration commemorating Mexico’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla.
