Trenton Water Works Continues the Progress

Mayor proposes three resolutions to fund significant upgrades to system

TRENTON, N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora’s Administration, citing continued progress with Trenton Water Works (TWW), proposed three new resolutions to be considered by the City Council next week. The resolutions would award contracts for services such as routine inspections and maintenance of engines in the water filtration plant, cleanup of byproducts caused by the water filtration process, and public awareness campaigns.

“Trenton Water Works, under the leadership of Director Shing-Fu Hsueh, has made tremendous improvements to our water quality,” said Gusciora.  “Our water is safe to drink, and we are meeting standards set by the Department of Environmental Protections (DEP). The Resolutions are a sign that we are continuing that progress.”

TWW was previously cited by DEP for violations of water quality standards and was wracked with vacancies. Since the beginning of the Gusciora Administration, efforts were made to reverse these trends to deliver clean manageable water to its customers.

“We hope that Council will look favorably on the water resolutions so we can get the job done,” said Gusciora. “We want to continue the progress and actually make it boring to hear about the work at TWW.”
