Tucker on History-making Number of African-American Women Graduating from West Point
Total of 34 Women in Class of 2019
(TRENTON) – Saluting the progress being made in the United States Military, Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker (D-Essex), chair, Military & Veterans’ Affairs Committee, issued the following statement Monday regarding the recent graduation of the most African-American women, a total of 34, in the 217 year history of the United States Military Academy-West Point:
“I offer my sincerest congratulations to these 34 women who have not only made history with this remarkable accomplishment, but their hard work will be an inspiration to other African-American women to follow in their footsteps.
“After four years of countless sacrifices, endless determination and sheer grit, these women are now prepared to serve our country in the United States Army with excellence, distinction and honor. I wish them continued success in their endeavors and thank them for service.”
