Tucker Statement Regarding Ongoing Events at Delaney Hall

“The situation unfolding at Delaney Hall is deeply concerning, both for the individuals inside the facility and for the residents who live and work in the surrounding community.

“I have consistently opposed what is happening within Delaney Hall and have raised concerns about the impact this facility has on our neighborhoods. At the same time, I am equally concerned by the growing tensions and outside forces that have inserted themselves into this situation. Actions that escalate conflict or create additional safety risks do not serve our residents or help address the underlying issues.

“My primary concern is and always will be the safety of the people I represent. The families who call Newark home should not be forced to worry about escalating confrontations in their neighborhoods. Residents deserve safe streets, clear communication from public officials, and solutions that put the interests of the community first.

“As this situation continues to develop, I am urging all parties involved to prioritize public safety, exercise restraint, and work toward a resolution that protects Newark residents and respects the concerns that have been raised by the community.”
