UTCA STATEMENT CELEBRATING GOV. KEAN ON HIS 90TH BIRTHDAY

WALL – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) Executive Director David Rible issued the following statement today on former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean, Sr., who will celebrate his 90th birthday on Monday:

“Governor Kean is an example of what’s possible when elected leaders put partisan differences aside and seek to find common ground. His accomplishments are too many to list here but we want to especially thank him for having the foresight to sign the Transportation Trust Fund Authority Act in 1984. This provided New Jersey with the first reliable, stable transportation funding source since the state Constitution was changed in 1948 to eliminate the dedication of funds to transportation projects. Since then, the TTF has been critical in keeping New Jersey’s infrastructure viable and safe.

“We are greatly appreciative of Governor Kean’s leadership and dedication to making New Jersey, and the world, a better place. On behalf of the UTCA, we wish him the happiest of birthdays.”
