Vainieri Huttle Commends Efforts of Bergen County to Ensure Safety of Jewish Community during High Holidays
(TRENTON) – In advance of the upcoming Jewish High Holidays, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen) released the following statement:
“As the Jewish High Holidays approach, I would like to convey my appreciation to Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton and Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella on their commitment to keeping our communities safe.
“Today, Sheriff Cureton and Prosecutor Musella joined with law enforcement officers and local faith leaders for a community briefing to ensure that the Bergen County community is prepared and informed in advance of the upcoming High Holidays.
“As the rate of anti-Semitic attacks continues to rise across the nation, we must do everything in our power to protect our communities, defending them against hate and bigotry. I am proud that Bergen County is leading the way in these efforts.
“Last year, New Jersey ranked as the third highest state in the nation for anti-Semitic incidents. It is critical that we stand together in solidarity with all New Jerseyans, regardless of faith, we are united and we will continue to proclaim that hate has no home in the Garden State.
“To the Jewish Community in New Jersey and around the world, I wish you a happy, healthy and safe New Year.”
