Verrelli Receives Endorsement from New Jersey State AFL-CIO
TRENTON, NJ — Assemblyman Anthony S. Verrelli (LD-15) is grateful to commemorate
today his endorsement from the New Jersey State American Federation of Labor and
Congress of Industrial Organizations (NJ AFL-CIO). New Jersey State AFL-CIO first
announced its endorsement of Verrelli on 12 June 2019.
Verrelli, a union leader and a carpenter by trade, doubled down on his commitment towards
putting the middle class first and lifting up working families with access to well-paying jobs,
affordable health care, and securing the ability to retire with dignity.
“Our public workers are the backbone of New Jersey’s economy and infrastructure,” said
Assemblyman Verrelli. I am proud to stand by my commitment to everyday working class New
Jerseyans. The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is an effective voice in Trenton for our shared goals
as part of the greater organized labor family. They fight to ensure New Jersey’s working class is
well-represented and I will continue to work with them, so together we can create more jobs,
provide essential skills training, and modernize our state’s infrastructure. I am honored to be
endorsed by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO and thank them for supporting my candidacy. ”
Assemblyman Verrelli added, “As the attempts to erode workers’ rights continue, we must fight
to enact a bold progressive agenda that protects our public workers, makes New Jersey more
affordable, and invests in our infrastructure and New Jersey Transit so we can revitalize our
economy. I first walked in to the State House with my toolbelt ready to go to work, and that
memory remains fresh on my mind whenever I walk in to cast my vote on the floor of the
Assembly to continue building up our great state. ”
