Vitale Lauds Intent to Nominate Judith Persichilli as Commissioner of the Department of Health
Trenton – After Governor Murphy announced his intention to nominate Judith Persichilli as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health today, the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee Chair Senator Joseph Vitale issued the following statement:
“I’ve known Judy for years, and I have the utmost confidence that the Senate will confirm this nomination and she will excel in her new role as commissioner. Starting as a nurse and working at all levels of hospital and health care administration, she has a breadth of experience and knowledge you can only acquire from the ground up.
“I’ve enjoyed working alongside Judy as a thoughtful leader on many public health issues throughout my time in the Legislature. Her vast experience and leadership qualities make her an ideal choice by the governor and I look forward to working with her and what she will accomplish as New Jersey’s top health official.”
Once nominated, Judith Persichilli will become the Acting Commissioner of the Department of Health until the New Jersey Senate confirms the nomination.
