Vouchers Still Available for Burlington County Senior Farmer’s Market Program

 

Earlier in the year, Freeholder Felicia Hopson announced that vouchers for the New Jersey Senior Farmer’s Market Program are available. The program is a joint effort between the United States Department of Agricultural and the New Jersey Department of Health, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, that provides low income seniors with $25 in voucher form to purchase New Jersey farmers locally grown produce.

Over 300 vouchers still remain available to eligible seniors until September 30, 2019. Distribution of produce vouchers will cease after September 30, but they can be used until November 30, 2019.

For senior citizens that are looking to receive a voucher, there are a few guidelines. State regulations requires documentation such proof of Burlington County residency, age, identity, income.

Guidelines and needed documentation are as follows:

  • Burlington County Resident (age 60 and up)
    • Proof of Age and Residency can be:
      • Driver License (age & residency)
      • Utility/Phone Bill (residency)
      • Birth Certificate (age)
  • Gross Income Limits (all income)
  • Single Household $22,311 annual income or less
  • Married Household $30,044 annual income or less
    • Proof of Income can be
      • Current Income Tax Return
      • W-2 Form
      • Current Pay Stub
      • Social Security Benefit Statement
    • Automatic Income Eligibility: Food Stamps/SNAP Card, or Medicaid Card
