WalletHub Study: New Jersey Is 2019’s 8th Best State for Jobs

With employers expecting to hire 16.6 percent more graduates from the Class of 2019 than in the previous year, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2019’s Best & Worst States for Jobs as well as accompanying videos.

To ease the process of finding employment for job seekers, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 33 key indicators of job-market strength, opportunity and economic vitality. The data set ranges from employment growth to median annual income to average commute time.

Finding a Job in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.)

  • 31st – Job Opportunities
  • 17th – Monthly Average Starting Salary
  • 31st – Unemployment Rate
  • 4th – Median Annual Income (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
  • 23rd – Avg. Length of Work Week (in Hours)
