Warren County Chair Doug Steinhardt Endorses Alex Zdan for US Senate

Zdan Campaign Now Has Organizational Support from Passaic, Sussex, Essex, Burlington and Warren Counties

PHILLIPSBURG - Warren County Chairman Doug Steinhardt on Sunday endorsed Alex Zdan for US Senate to take on Democratic US Senator Cory Booker.

Steinhardt, a former state party chair and current state Senator, praised Zdan as the best choice for the Republican party to defeat Booker and lead the Republican ticket this year.

“I am happy to support Alex Zdan for US Senate,” Steinhardt said. “We need strong leaders to counter the far left takeover of the Democrat Party.”

Steinhardt joins earlier endorsements from Passaic County Chair Peter Murphy, whose organization unanimously endorsed Zdan on Feb. 11, Sussex County Chairman Joe LaBarbera and Essex County Chairman Al Barlas.

LaBarbera endorsed Zdan on Feb. 16, at the Lincoln Day event in Hopatcong where Zdan formally announced his Senate campaign.

“I support Alex Zdan as our Republican candidate for US Senate because his grasp of national level issues is what our nation currently needs to counter the far left takeover of the Democratic Party,” LaBarbera said.

“I am gratified to have the support of two of the reddest counties in the state,” Zdan said. “Sussex County and Warren County are proven vote engines that propel our party statewide.”

Essex County Chairman Al Barlas endorsed Zdan following a vote of his executive committee on Feb. 24.

“It means a great deal to me to have the endorsement of the Essex Republican party, including the support of Newark Republicans,” Zdan said. “The party has had a front row seat to Cory Booker deserting the people of Newark and impacting the health of hundreds of thousands of people with his mismanagement of Newark’s water utility.”

On Saturday, the Zdan campaign won the endorsement of Burlington County Republicans at their convention in Columbus, earning victory by a two-to-one margin over the nearest competitor.

The influential Bergen County Republican party Policy Committee also endorsed Zdan by a landslide margin on Feb. 24, heading into the Bergen convention on March 9.
