Warren County Commissioner James Kern III Announces Re-election and Endorsements
Warren County Officials and Republican Party Leaders Support Kern
White Township – 1-8-2021 – Warren County Commissioner James Kern III announced support from across Warren County in his bid for re-election. James Kern III, a republican, will seek a second term
for the Office of Commissioner (as the title Freeholder has been retired at the conclusion of
2020).
“Today I am proud to announce my re-election.” said Kern. “These past two years have certainly
flown by. Our board has accomplished many great things like the lowest county budget in 15 years,
increased communication among our municipalities and making county government more transparent.
2020, no question, was overshadowed by COVID-19, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel that
we can now finally see. I look forward to leading Warren County past the pandemic into the future.”
State Senator Mike Doherty of Washington gave strong praise for the news of Kern’s re-election. “I
strongly support Jim Kern for re-election to the Warren County Board of Commissioners. Under his
leadership, county taxes have remained flat and county debt has been dramatically reduced. In 2020,
Warren County had its smallest budget in 15 years. Jim has been a tireless defender of the
taxpayers. I am proud to endorse him for another term as County Commissioner.”
Assemblyman John DiMaio of Hackettstown also offered his endorsement. “As a former freeholder, I
know the work the job takes. Jim has been an advocate for the taxpayers and fights to keep Warren
County as an affordable and attractive place to live. He has my full support and I am proud to
endorse him.”
Commissioner Jason Sarnoski said the following about Kern announcement: “Jim Kern has been a
tireless advocate for the Warren County taxpayer, and I am proud to endorse him for re-election. He
took the lead on our County-wide COVID plan and has worked hard to make sure we got our share of
the COVID relief funds. He is helping keep Warren County the beautiful place we all love. We need
Jim Kern as a leader in Warren County.”
Commissioner Lori Ciesla shared excitement for Kern’s bid. “Jim has made an impressive impact on
the county in his first term as Freeholder as a vocal advocate for our residents at the State and
Federal level. I am thrilled he is running for re-election and very happy to be endorsing him in
his campaign!”
Mayor Todd Tersigni of Phillipsburg also offered his full support for Kern. “Jim is true to Warren
County residents and businesses. I have known him to be a man of his word and I am proud to stand
with him.”
Belvidere Mayor Joe Kennedy praised Kern’s work with local officials. “Commissioner Kern has worked
with municipal leaders and taken the charge of local coordination on planning. He continues to
bring officials together to discuss planning strategies and promote smart growth. Belvidere has a
friend in Jim Kern.”
“These endorsements from state, local and party leaders are greatly appreciated. I look forward to
continuing to serve our shared constituents,” said Kern.
