Warren County Democratic Committee Endorses Brian Varela for Congress (NJ-7)

Warren County, NJ (March 25, 2026) – Yesterday, Brian Varela was awarded the endorsement of the Warren County Democratic Committee following the withdrawal of Megan O’Rourke from the NJ-7 Democratic primary. After a strong performance in the Warren County Convention, including coming in first place in the initial ballot, the Committee has given its endorsement to Varela, expanding his growing coalition of supporters across the district. The support of Warren County Democrats marks Varela’s second county endorsement, following this month’s earlier victory at the Sussex County Democratic Convention where he won with 52% the vote.

The endorsement of Warren County’s Democratic convention follows the vote by the Sussex County Democrats to endorse Varela for the NJ-7 Democratic primary. With the support of Warren and Sussex County Democrats, Varela’s grassroots campaign continues to expand its surging base of supporters including more than 80 endorsers at national, state, and local levels, including influential leaders like Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, former DNC Chair Tom Perez, and Andrew Yang.
