Weinberg Welcomes Appointees to the Gateway Development Commission
Trenton – In the following statement, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg welcomes the diverse makeup of the members appointed to the Gateway Development Commission today by Governors Phil Murphy of New Jersey and Andrew Cuomo of New York:
“I am encouraged to see the commitment to diversity that is evident in the appointments by Governors Murphy and Cuomo to the Gateway Development Commission. It’s clear both administrations now recognize that the scale and complexity of the project ahead of us demands a wide range of backgrounds, knowledge and expertise.
“This diverse Commission would not have been possible without my collaboration with New York Assemblywoman Amy Paulin which resulted in legislation that, among other things, expanded the number of members on the Commission. Assemblywoman Paulin was a terrific ally and advocate, whose dedication helped both states gain greater, and more diverse, representation in the Gateway Project. I look forward to working closely with Assemblywoman Paulin and the members of the Commission as we continue to advance the desperately needed Hudson Tunnel Project.”
