WELLE WINS MONMOUTH DEMS CONVENTION Party Leaders Overwhelmingly Back Welle for Congress

​ – Democratic Congressional candidate Josh Welle won the Monmouth County Democratic Convention Saturday, winning more than 60 percent of the vote of party leaders. “Josh will bring a new energy and 21st century solutions to Washington,” said ​Monmouth County Democratic Party Chairman Dave Brown​. “Josh will join Frank Pallone in the House and together they’ll make Washington work for Monmouth County.” Welle joins Congressman Pallone with Freeholder candidates Amber Gesslein and Larry Luttrell as the officially backed candidates of the Monmouth County Democratic Party. U.S. Senator Robert Menendez will top the ticket. “I look forward to working with Frank, Amber and Larry to help Democrats win up and down the ballot,” Welle said. “The turnout by rank and file Democrats at the convention was the largest ever. It shows that there’s enthusiasm throughout the county. “With local partners with shared priorities, we can bring 21st century jobs, safe schools and neighborhoods, fair taxation and affordable, accessible healthcare to Monmouth County.” Welle, a Wall native, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served 12 years active duty including deploying to Afghanistan.

Josh was born in New Jersey and raised in Monmouth County. He spent 12 years in active duty defending America abroad and is now ready to protect New Jersey’s interests here at home. Josh is prepared for the challenge, having deployed to Afghanistan to rebuild their economy and having served as the CEO of a small business. He stands ready to increase the number of 21st-century jobs, make healthcare accessible to all, and advocate for sensible foreign policy. Josh will be an innovative and bipartisan leader in Congress committed to solving real problems facing New Jersey citizens.
