West New York Leaders Endorse DeGise in 2019

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A group of elected officials and community leaders from West New York are endorsing Tom DeGise for County Executive in 2019. U.S. Representative Albio Sires, a former West New York Mayor, endorsed DeGise last week and he will now be joined by:

– Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32)

– Freeholder Caridad Rodriguez

– Commissioner Cosmo Cirillo

– Commissioner Margarita Guzman

– Commissioner Gabriel Rodriguez

“As our County Executive, Tom DeGise has been a true partner and friend to the residents of West New York and there is no one we would rather support for another term,” said Assemblywoman Jimenez. “Tom is a progressive, effective leader and his administration has championed the issues and services that matter most, like making investments in public education, open space, transportation and everything our county needs.”

County Executive DeGise reaffirmed that he is running in the 2019 Primary election last week after political opponents engaged in a sneak attack to attempt to push him out of the race. Undaunted, DeGise has released a long list of supporters that includes the Mayors of seven of Hudson County’s 12 municipalities, as well as numerous Jersey City elected officials and community leaders, including two sitting Council members and former mayor Jerramiah Healy.

“As County Executive I have always made it my mission to represent the interests of all 12 municipalities that make up our county, and I am so proud to see the leaders of West New York recognize that commitment and come together to support our campaign,” said County Executive DeGise. “The outpouring of support we have received from all over Hudson County speaks volumes and I look forward to announcing additional supporters soon.”
