Willingboro Township Honors the Retirement of Reva Foster After More Than Three Decades of Dedicated Service
Willingboro, NJ – Willingboro Township announces the retirement of Reva Foster, Executive Director of the Department on Aging, Community Affairs, and Veterans Affairs, effective June 1, 2026, concluding a remarkable career of public service that has positively impacted countless residents and families throughout the community.
Since joining Willingboro Township in 1993 as Director of the Senior Citizen Center, Foster has been a tireless advocate for older adults, veterans, and residents of all ages. Under her leadership, the Township's senior services program grew into a highly respected, state-recognized resource that provided not only essential services, but also a welcoming community for generations of residents. Her responsibilities later expanded to include leadership of the Township's Community Affairs and Veterans Affairs Departments, where she continued to champion programs that strengthened the quality of life for Willingboro residents. In November 2020, the Senior Citizen Center was named the Reva Foster Senior Center.
Throughout her distinguished career, Foster has exemplified a commitment to service, civic engagement, and community empowerment. Her extensive involvement with numerous local, county, and statewide organizations, coupled with her advocacy for seniors, veterans, women, and underserved populations, has earned her widespread recognition and admiration.
In 2024, Foster received one of New Jersey's highest honors when she was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame as an Unsung Hero, recognizing her extraordinary contributions to public service and community leadership. The honor highlighted her decades-long commitment to helping others and her lasting impact on the residents of Willingboro and beyond.
"For more than 30 years, Ms. Foster has been the heart and soul of so many programs and services that have enriched the lives of our residents. Her unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and commitment to serving others have left an indelible mark on Willingboro Township," said Samantha E. Whitfield, Township Mayor. "On behalf of the Township Council, administration, staff, and residents, we extend our deepest gratitude and wish her a well-deserved retirement."

shared Dwayne M. Harris, Township Manager. "She has built programs, developed partnerships, and inspired countless individuals through her passion for public service. Her impact will continue to be felt for years to come, and we are grateful for her extraordinary contributions to our community."
A graduate of Allen University with a degree in Biology, Foster also served honorably in the United States Air Force and has devoted her life to public service, leadership, and community advocacy. Her many accomplishments include leadership roles in civic, charitable, and professional organizations, as well as numerous awards recognizing her dedication to improving the lives of others.
As she begins her retirement, Willingboro Township celebrates Reva Foster's exceptional legacy and thanks her for more than three decades of unwavering service to the community.
