Winslow Township Education Association To Hold First Pop-Up Pantry Event in Sicklerville on 4/17
Sicklerville, NJ- The 607 union members of the Winslow Township Education Association will be holding their first-ever Pop-Up Pantry event on Saturday, April 17th, from 9:00-11:00am.
The Pop-Up Pantry will offer the opportunity to pick up a box of shelf-stable food supplies, as well as basic household goods, pet food, and diapers, free of charge to any resident of Winslow Twp. No documentation or eligibility criteria are required other than residence within the school district’s limits. The Pantry will be set up outside El Mercadito at 540 Williamstown Rd in Sicklerville.
Pre-registration is required, which is accomplished by filling out a web form at http://bit.ly/WTEApantry.
“This pandemic has been an incredible challenge for our Winslow community,” said Adam Sheridan, President of the Winslow Township Education Association. “As school employees, we have seen those challenges up close over the past year, and we are committed to doing our part to help.”
This event is a partnership between WTEA and two other organizations: We Are Winslow, a community and civic organization of Winslow residents, and the South Jersey Mutual Aid Network, a regional organization founded to help neighbors survive the COVID-19 pandemic by providing free food and basic supplies.
“The Winslow community has made sure to keep our school employees safe since the beginning of this pandemic. This Pantry is a way to thank the community, and to make sure that our students and their families are able to thrive in these difficult times,” said Maria Clark, Vice President of WTEA.
Along with the shelf-stable food and supplies, the Pantry will also offer the first 70 people to arrive at the Pantry a hot meal prepared by El Mercadito. Residents of Winslow Twp are encouraged to fill out the web form and take advantage of this opportunity.
