314 Action Fund Endorses Two New Jersey Doctors Running for Congress in NJ-07 and NJ-12
(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — Today 314 Action Fund, the nation’s only organization working to recruit, train and elect doctors and scientists announced the endorsements of Dr. Tina Shah for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District and Dr. Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District.

“After spending their careers on the front lines, two New Jersey doctors, Dr. Tina Shah and Dr. Adam Hamawy, are stepping up to run for Congress,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action. “They’ve seen first hand what happens when a system is rigged to benefit insurance companies over New Jerseyans and what happens when Republicans turn their back on the Garden State. They join a growing number of doctors running for Congress nationwide—and we are proud to endorse them.”

Naughton continued, “314 Action launched Guardians of Public Health as a response to the healthcare crisis under Trump and RFK Jr. It’s clear that healthcare affordability is going to be the top issue this fall, with millions more Americans set to lose their healthcare in December because of Republican cuts to Medicaid. Dr. Shah and Dr. Hamawy’s expertise and real-life experience on the operating table and in emergency rooms gives them a sharp advantage at the ballot box. Poll after poll has shown candidates with a scientific or medical background are among the most trusted professions. Dr. Shah and Dr. Hamawy are ready to take the fight to Congress and 314 Action will be supporting them every step of the way.”

Dr. Tina Shah and Dr. Adam Hamawy are both 314 Action’s Guardians of Public Health candidates. They’re answering the call to run for office as 314 Action works to elect 100 new doctors and health care leaders to office by 2030, raising and spending over $25 million in the effort.
