(Mount Holly)- Rosemarie Logue and Gary Brotz today officially announced their campaign for the Mount Holly Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners. Logue is seeking reelection, with Brotz joining her in the fight to provide transparent government and fiscal accountability. "Our campaign is about restoring integrity, transparency, accountability, and professionalism to the Fire District," said Logue. "The firefighters and taxpayers of Mount Holly deserve leadership that puts the community first, and with me and Gary Brotz that’s exactly what they'll get."

The Logue-Brotz campaign says its priorities include rebuilding trust in district leadership after what it describes as years of dysfunction, litigation, ethical concerns, and administrative failures. According to the campaign, when Rosemarie Logue took office in December 2024, the district was experiencing declining morale, firefighter turnover, management challenges, and instability.

Gary Brotz brings proven financial management experience to the ticket. A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Brotz said he will focus on improving fiscal management, accountability, and long-term financial planning for the district. "Our taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of every tax dollar, not runaway tax increases" said Brotz. "I will work to ensure the district operates with sound financial practices, responsible budgeting, and complete financial transparency."

During her term, Logue has been an outspoken advocate for open government and public accountability. The campaign points to her decision to cut short her 10th anniversary trip and fly halfway across the country to oppose what it describes as an illegal daytime meeting intended to appoint questionable personnel without meaningful public notice or oversight.

"I didn't fly halfway across the country because of one meeting; I came back because no elected official has the right to conduct the public's business in the shadows. The people of Mount Holly deserve meetings that are open, properly noticed, and accessible. If I'm reelected, there will be no backroom deals, no surprise meetings, and no government by insiders. Every major decision will be made in the open, where the public can see it," Logue said.

The campaign also criticized the record of current Commissioner June Gaskill and her husband, former district employee and Fire Commissioner candidate George Gaskill. The campaign notes that Commissioner Gaskill is the subject of multiple pending state ethics matters and alleges that George Gaskill has continued to retain District-issued property following his resignation from District employment in September 2025. Due to the actions of the Gaskill’s the district has incurred tens of thousands of dollars in unwarranted legal bills, and 5 attorneys have quit over the past 18 months.

Brotz said, "George and June Gaskill, husband and wife, the unethical dynamic duo serving as commissioners together would be an unprecedented ethical disaster for the district. Wherever they go, controversy, ethics complaints, legal disputes, and unnecessary costs to taxpayers seem to follow. Instead of focusing on our firefighters and serving the public, they have spent years dividing the district, undermining public confidence and personally enriching themselves at public expense. That ends when Rosemarie and I are elected. The Fire District will once again be run ethically, legally, and transparently. We will prioritize firefighters, taxpayers and the public, not political insiders or personal agendas. The days of using public office for personal advantage will be over."
The campaign also questioned the fitness of candidate Tom Rossell to serve as Fire Commissioner. According to the campaign, Rossell's conduct, including traffic-related offenses demonstrates poor judgment and disregard for public safety, raises concerns about whether he possesses the judgment and responsibility expected of an elected official entrusted with overseeing public safety.

"This election comes down to one simple question," Logue said. "Do we continue down the path of controversy and division, or do we restore integrity, transparency, and accountability? Gary and I are ready to dig in and work towards restoring confidence in the Mount Holly Fire District, putting our firefighters and taxpayers first, and ensuring the district once again serves the people of Mount Holly."
