32BJ SEIU Announces Congressional Endorsements Across New Jersey

32BJ SEIU is reaffirming the union’s commitment to electing leaders who stand with working families, defend collective bargaining rights, and deliver real results for workers, by proudly endorsing the re-election of the following members of Congress, who have demonstrated consistent partnership with labor and a record of advancing policies that create good union jobs and strengthen worker protections:

  • NJ-01: Donald Norcross
  • NJ-03: Herb Conaway
  • NJ-06: Frank Pallone
  • NJ-08: Robert Menendez
  • NJ-09: Nellie Pou
  • NJ-10: LaMonica McIver

These leaders have played key roles in securing historic federal investments that benefit New Jersey workers — from infrastructure and manufacturing to climate resilience, clean energy, safe drinking water, and expanded broadband access. Their leadership has helped ensure that federal policy translates into real opportunities and economic stability for working families across the state.

“From committee rooms in Washington to worksites across New Jersey, these members of Congress have shown that they understand who they represent,” said Ana María Hill, 32BJ SEIU Vice President and New Jersey State Director. “They don’t just speak about working people, they fight alongside them and deliver tangible results.”

In addition to backing incumbent champions of labor, 32BJ SEIU is endorsing Analilia Mejia in the Democratic primary for the NJ-11 special election.

Mejia, the daughter of immigrants and a longtime union and grassroots organizer, previously served as a political director at 32BJ SEIU and has spent decades advocating for workers across New Jersey. Her leadership helped win major victories for working families, including the fight for a $15 minimum wage and the expansion of paid sick leave statewide.

“Analilia Mejia is the best choice for New Jersey’s working families,” Hill added. “As the daughter of immigrants, a former 32BJ political director, and a lifelong union and grassroots organizer, she knows firsthand what working people are up against, because she’s lived it. She’s delivered real victories, from the fight for a $15 minimum wage to expanding paid sick leave in New Jersey. Our members chose to support her because they trust she’ll bring that same courage and commitment to Congress. We’re proud to stand with her.”

32BJ SEIU members voted to support Mejia based on her proven commitment to worker power, economic justice, and policies that allow families to afford housing, healthcare, and a dignified life in the communities they help sustain.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of 32BJ SEIU,” Mejia said. “This union represents the workers who keep New Jersey running, and I’ve spent my career fighting alongside them. In Congress, I’ll continue that fight — protecting workers’ rights, raising wages, and ensuring working families always come first.”
