Ali Aljarrah Announces Run for Passaic County Commissioner
Lifelong Passaic County resident launches people-focused campaign centered on livability and opportunity
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Ali Aljarrah announced today his candidacy for Passaic County Commissioner, launching a campaign rooted in his lifelong connection to the county and a commitment to making Passaic County more livable for working families across its municipalities.
Born in Paterson and raised between Clifton and Little Falls, Aljarrah has spent much of his life living, working, and serving in Passaic County. His campaign focuses on affordability and livability with five interconnected challenges facing residents countywide: affordable and available housing, the rising cost of living, inadequate transportation, a weak local jobs market, and the ongoing environmental crisis affecting the county’s waterways and flood-prone communities.
Aljarrah brings experience from within county government, political operations, and civic organizations.
“Passaic County needs a fresh approach that’s focused on how people actually live their lives,” said Aljarrah. “Housing, transportation, jobs, and the environment aren’t separate issues - they
shape whether families can afford to stay, work, and build a future here. This campaign is about a new kind of politics that puts livability, accountability, and community first.”
If elected, Aljarrah would bring both institutional knowledge and a new generation of leadership to the Board of County Commissioners, with a focus on collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and inclusive governance.
