Andy Cobb Appointed Chief Financial Officer of Centenary University
A resident of Madison, NJ, Cobb will leverage his experience in financial and administrative leadership to enhance organizational effectiveness at the University.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ, Jan. 13, 2026—Centenary University President John R. Schol has announced the appointment of Andy Cobb as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the University president, Cobb will oversee all financial operations of the University, including financial management, resource allocation, and planning to develop strategies that align operations with institutional priorities for growth.

Cobb brings a distinguished career in strategic finance, operational transformation, and collaborative leadership to Centenary. He most recently served as Assistant Vice President at AT&T, where he led large-scale financial operations, complex budgeting environments, and multi-year organizational change initiatives. Over his 20-plus years with AT&T, he held multiple CFO and director-level roles across diverse business units, consistently driving transparency, financial rigor, and sustainable performance.
Earlier in his career, Cobb held senior financial planning and analysis roles at MCI Telecommunications, where he developed the analytical foundation and modeling expertise that have become hallmarks of his leadership style.
Throughout his career, Cobb has been recognized for his ability to stabilize challenged operations, build trust across stakeholder groups, and translate complex financial realities into clear, actionable strategies. His work has spanned turnaround environments, customer-facing organizations, and large-scale service operations—experience that aligns directly with Centenary’s current priorities.

A resident of Madison, NJ, Cobb is dedicated to serving his community as a trustee/board member and CFO of the United Methodist Church and a board member and CFO of Acorn Academy. He also mentors students at Drew University and is a board member and coach for Madison Athletics.
