Assemblywoman Drulis, Assemblyman Verrelli, Clinton Mayor Kovach, High Bridge Mayor Lee, Other Hunterdon Dem Elected Officials Endorse Bennett in CD-7

Today, Assemblywoman and Former District Director for Fmr. Rep. Tom Malinowski - Mitchelle Drulis (LD-16), Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli (LD-15), along with Mayor of Clinton Town Janice Kovach, Mayor of High Bridge Borough Michele Lee, Former Flemington Mayor Betsy Driver, and a group of Council members in Clinton Town, High Bridge Borough, Frenchtown Borough, Lambertville, and Lebanon Boro endorsed Navy Helicopter Pilot, healthcare business leader, and mom of two, Rebecca Bennett for Congress in NJ-07.

This endorsement builds upon the Hunterdon County endorsements for Bennett from Lambertville Mayor Andrew Nowick and Council President Benedetta Lambert in November of 2025.

“Having worked on many campaigns, including serving as senior staff in the successful effort to flip CD7 in 2018, I know what it takes to win here. More importantly, I’ve listened to the families worried about affordability, the neighbors fighting to be heard, and the communities determined to protect our fundamental rights. My endorsement comes not just from experience, but from those conversations and shared struggles. We need a candidate whose record reflects grit, integrity, and a real understanding of the challenges our communities face. We also need someone ready to meet the demands of a competitive race: building a strong team, running a tough ground game, raising the resources to compete, and working effectively with stakeholders across CD7. Rebecca Bennett embodies all of this. She connects with people, stands up for our values, and leads with the strength this district deserves. That’s why I’m proud to endorse her.” said Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis.

“Rebecca Bennett is the kind of leader New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District needs right now — bold, principled, and relentlessly focused on delivering results for families,” said Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli. “She understands the challenges our communities face, from affordability to protecting our freedoms, and she has the experience and judgment to fight for real solutions in Washington. We are proud to endorse Rebecca Bennett for Congress and we know she will be a strong, effective voice for our constituents.”

“Rebecca Bennett is a proven, effective leader who understands our small town communities and knows how to win. She brings the experience, credibility, and work ethic needed to connect with voters across the district and our towns, and she is uniquely well-positioned to defeat Tom Kean Jr. Rebecca can build the broad coalition required to compete and win—because she listens, collaborates, and delivers results. We are confident in her ability to lead and work with us when she gets to Congress,
and are proud to endorse her in this race.”

said Mayor of Clinton Town and 2014 Democratic Nominee for Congress in NJ-07 - Janice Kovach, Mayor of High Bridge Borough - Michele Lee, and Former Mayor of Flemington - Betsy Driver. Note: Kovach, Lee, and Driver had all endorsed Steven Fulop in the 2025 Gubernatorial Primary.

“I’m honored to have the support of so many current or former elected leaders who know what it takes to win in Hunterdon County year in and year out,” said Rebecca Bennett. “This growing coalition reflects a shared belief that NJ-07 deserves leadership that is present, responsive, and ready to win. Together, we are building momentum to flip this seat and deliver real results that tackle the issues Hunterdon County families are facing.”
