Assemblywoman Rowan Names Zachary Dougherty as Chief of Staff

Atlantic City, NJ - Assemblywoman Maureen Rowan (D-LD2) has named Zachary Dougherty as her chief of staff.
Dougherty most recently served as director of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education, a nonpartisan archive dedicated to the study of the U.S. Congress and the Constitution. He previously worked for the League of Women Voters of New Jersey, where he lobbied for good-government reforms as a community organizer, and is recognized as a national leader in youth civic engagement. Dougherty holds a master’s degree in legislative affairs from The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management and a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Monmouth University.
“I am excited to have Zachary Dougherty serve as my Chief of Staff,” said Assemblywoman Rowan. “Zachary's skills and experience will be a valuable asset as I assume my role as the Assemblywoman for the 2nd Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly.” This past November, Rowan defeated Republican incumbent Claire Swift, becoming the first Democratic woman to represent the district in the Assembly.
“I’m honored to support Assemblywoman Rowan,” Dougherty said. “Her campaign was rooted in community engagement, and I look forward to working alongside her to ensure those voices are reflected in real outcomes.”
