Assemblywoman Tennille R. McCoy Presents: A Century of Black History Commemorations

Hamilton Township, NJ — An extraordinary evening awaits on February 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Social Profit Center at Mill One (1 N Johnston Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08609) celebrating the rich legacy, resilience, and cultural contributions of Black Americans at A Century of Black History Commemorations featuring Lt. Governor Dale G. Caldwell & film producer and writer Sidra Smith.

Hosted in partnership with Isles, Inc. and ArtPride New Jersey, this landmark event will honor both the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month and the 250th Anniversary of America.

Assemblywoman McCoy stated, “As we gather to commemorate a century of Black history, we honor the resilience, contributions, and vibrant culture that have shaped our nation. This event is not just a celebration of the past but a reminder of our ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all.”

The evening will feature a dynamic blend of music, curated art, dialogue, recognition, and culinary experiences, bringing together leaders, artists, educators, and community members from across New Jersey.

Please join us as we honor the Divine 9, Cycle Kings, Ms. Jerlene “Cookie” H. Worthy, Mr. R Douglas Cooper, Jr., Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, Amazon Black Employee Network (BEN), New Jersey Black Troopers Association, and Mr. Quincy A. Barnett.

Each honorees award highlights extraordinary dedication to community service, education, historical preservation, diversity and inclusion, public safety, and civic leadership.

The evening will also feature live performances by the New Jersey Symphony, Passage Theatre, and the Lawrence High School Gospel Choir.
