Bennett Warmly Received at Well-Attended CD-7 No Kings Rally

SOMERVILLE - No Kings protesters blanketed the vicinity of the Somerset County Courthouse here this morning, projecting a galvanized anti-Trump presence ahead of the Nov. 3rd midterm election.
Somerville sits at the heart of the 7th Congressional District, one of the most watched contests in the country, where U.S. Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (R-7) - a staunch Trump ally - appears weak.
His opponent, retired Navy helicopter pilot Rebecca Bennett, engendered a warm response from the crowd here.
Another strong crowd of No Kings protesters convened on the side of Route 22 west of Somerville at around the same time, as No Kings protest events nationwide maintained momentum while Trump and his apologists stumbled.
In Somerville, a self-proclaimed "King," who showed up in a Burger King-style crown to offer a counter punch to the blue wave, met with attitudes of pity and compassion.
President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to a new low in Fox News polling, as voters express deep dissatisfaction with his handling of inflation and the economy and Democrats widen their advantage ahead of November's midterm elections.
The survey, released Oct. 14, found Trump's approval rating at 36%, while 64% of registered voters said they disapproved of his job performance. According to Fox News, that marks the lowest approval rating the president has received in the network's polling during either of his two terms in the White House.
