Chebra Announces Run for Burlington County Commissioner

February 15, 2026

Jonathan Chebra today announced his candidacy for Burlington County Commissioner with the following statement:

“I’m running to stand up for Burlington County residents — to make sure your tax dollars are spent responsibly, that county government operates with integrity and transparency, and that Burlington County remains a place where families can thrive and seniors can age with dignity.

“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on delivering real results. I worked alongside Dr. Herb Conaway on landmark legislation to make healthcare more affordable for working families. I helped expand access to Naloxone to reduce overdoses, fought back against harmful Medicaid cuts, and worked to strengthen SNAP food assistance to combat food insecurity.

“As Chair of the Burlington County Library System, I led the charge to eliminate late fines — making our libraries more equitable and accessible while bringing more residents back through their doors.

“My work has always centered on finding common-sense solutions that bring people together to make our communities healthier, safer, and more affordable. I’m ready to bring that experience to county government — to lower costs, improve services, and ensure Burlington County remains a strong, vibrant community we are proud to call home.

“I believe that when the world feels overwhelming — and right now, it often does — you focus on your corner of it and ask how you can make a real difference. That’s why I’m running for Burlington County Commissioner. And that’s why I look forward to earning your support.”

Jonathan lives in Bordentown City with his wife, Hilary, their two young children, and their dog, Ace.
