Dr. Tina Shah Earns the Endorsements of Congress Members Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Marilyn Strickland (WA-10), Kim Schrier (WA-08), & Eric Sorensen (IL-17) in her campaign to flip NJ-07
Westfield, NJ — Today, four members of Congress announced their endorsement of Dr. Tina Shah in her campaign to flip New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
“I am excited to endorse Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District,” said Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17). “Dr. Shah is running to bring sanity and science back to Washington. As a meteorologist, I know that we need people like Dr. Shah in Congress who understand the toughest problems our nation and our planet are facing right now. I look forward to serving with Dr. Shah in Congress.” - Congressman Sorensen (IL-17)
“I am very proud to endorse Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District,” said Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10). “Dr. Shah has served as a policy leader at the highest levels of government, and healthcare is the number one economic issue that working families are facing. I look forward to working with Dr. Shah in Congress to make life more affordable for American families and protect access to affordable healthcare.” - Congressman Subramanyam (VA-10)
“I am proud to endorse Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District,” said Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08). “As a fellow physician, I know she understands the healthcare crisis we are facing – and will bring real-world tested solutions to lower costs and make it easier for every New Jerseyan and American to get quality healthcare. I look forward to welcoming her to the Congressional Doctors Caucus.” - Congresswoman Schrier (WA-08)
“I am excited to endorse Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District,” said ASPIRE PAC Chairwoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10). “As a physician serving her community for years, Tina knows how important our fight for affordable and accessible healthcare is – and she knows how to deliver it. We were both raised in immigrant families and have fulfilled the American Dream. She is the fighter we need in Congress to restore our Democracy and the American dream.” - Chairwoman Strickland (WA-10)
“I’m grateful to have the support of Congress Members Sorensen, Strickland, Schrier, & Subramanyam,” Shah said. “They know how to get things done in Congress and deliver for their communities. I look forward to joining these members in Congress to make policy and deliver real results for New Jerseyans.” - Dr. Tina Shah
Momentum continues to build behind Dr. Shah, who reported the highest FEC report in the NJ-7 primary, $1M in Q1 of 2024. Dr. Shah was the first candidate to go live on cable with her ad “Bleeding.” She also recently released a bio poll, indicating her message, when stacked up against the field, polls 15 points above her nearest competitor, in an election cycle where health care is the number one economic issue. Race raters agree that Kean Jr. is highly vulnerable: The Center for Politics and Cook Political Report rate NJ-07 as one of the top “toss-up” congressional races in the country. Additionally, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has included Tom Kean Jr. in their 2026 “Districts in Play” list.
About Dr. Tina Shah:
Dr. Tina Shah is an intensive care doctor who has spent her career fighting for her patients and to improve the quality of care in New Jersey and across the country. A triple board-certified physician, Tina has cared for patients at their most vulnerable and seen firsthand how rising costs, insurance denials, and political dysfunction put lives at risk. Instead of accepting the broken healthcare system, Tina got to work to fix it from both the public and private sectors. She served under three presidential administrations, developing innovative strategies to expand access to healthcare to veterans and leading the first federal plan to combat the burnout that drove doctors and nurses out of the field. In New Jersey, she successfully fought for legislation that stopped insurance companies from denying care. As Chief Medical Officer of an AI company, she also led efforts to cut red tape for doctors and nurses, freeing them to focus on patients and outcomes instead of paperwork. Today, Tina is running for Congress to restore sanity and science in Washington and deliver the stable, compassionate leadership New Jersey’s 7th District deserves.
