Embrich Announces Campaign for Democratic National Committee Executive Board

TRENTON, NJ – Veteran advocate Michael Embrich today announced his candidacy for the Executive Board of the Democratic National Committee in a special election to fill a current vacancy. The election will take place at the upcoming DNC meeting in April in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Embrich said he is running to ensure that veterans and their families, frontline public servants, and working Americans have a decisive voice in shaping the Democratic Party’s national platform ahead of 2026 and 2028. He noted that the Veterans and Military Families Council currently has far less formal authority than other DNC caucuses and said his first priority will be to strengthen its role—ensuring it has the tools, resources, and influence needed to deliver real results for veterans and their families and to bring more veterans into the Democratic Party.

“Michael Embrich has been a tireless advocate for veterans and military families, and his commitment to service truly reflects our Democratic values. During the New Jersey governor’s race, he played a pivotal role in engaging and mobilizing our Veterans Caucus, ensuring veterans’ voices were heard and represented throughout the campaign. I am proud to support his candidacy and look forward to the impact he will continue to make on behalf of veterans and military families across the country, just as he has continuously done here in New Jersey,” said Chairman LeRoy Jones, New Jersey Democratic State Committee.

“I’ve known Michael Embrich for more than 20 years and have worked with him on a number of elections. His commitment to service has never wavered. He served our country honorably and has been an extraordinary advocate for veterans ever since,” said Senator Vin Gopal (D–Monmouth).

“Michael shows up for the Democratic Party year after year, and in 2025 he worked tirelessly to rally veterans in support of the entire Democratic Party ticket. His leadership, integrity, and work ethic make him exactly the kind of person we need on the DNC Executive Board,” Gopal added.

“Being born and raised in Hudson County myself, I can attest that Michael Embrich is a stellar example of sincere hard work and faith,” said Hudson County Democratic Chairman Craig Guy. “A true veterans advocate, his understanding of the issues and the politics is exactly what the DNC needs as our democratic values are under attack in Washington,” Guy continued.

“If the landslide victory of Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill showed us anything, it’s that the old party playbook has failed. We need a new way forward. We have no one to blame but ourselves for Donald Trump—and we have an obligation to do better for the American people,” said Michael Embrich.

The DNC Veterans and Military Families Council and caucuses, which currently have fewer powers and resources than other DNC caucuses, have a real opportunity to reengage and win back veterans and their families who have too often turned to the GOP. I am committed to ensuring that DNC leadership treats this mission with the urgency and seriousness it deserves,” Embrich added.
