FAIR LAWN STUDENT ADVANCES IN BOARD OF EDUCATION APPOINTMENT PROCESS

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Chase Wille, a lifelong Fair Lawn resident and current student at Fair Lawn High School, has advanced to the public interview stage in the process to fill a vacant seat on the Fair Lawn Board of Education.

Wille was recently selected by the Board to move forward in the next phase of the appointment process, which will take place during an upcoming meeting.

“As a lifelong resident of Fair Lawn, I care deeply about the strength of our public schools and the responsibility entrusted to the Board,” Wille said. “I believe effective governance is grounded in fiscal responsibility, transparency, and a consistent focus on what is best for students.”

Wille’s background includes experience in municipal finance, legislative policy work, and community service. He currently serves as a Finance Intern for the Village of Ridgewood, assisting with municipal budget preparation and financial analysis. He is also a Legislative Intern in the New Jersey State Assembly and the founder of PolicyLenz, a startup focused on civic technology and public policy engagement.

In his letter of interest, Wille emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility, transparency, and long-term planning for the district. He also highlighted his commitment to career readiness, financial literacy, and real-world learning opportunities for students.

“As a student, I see firsthand the impact of board decisions,” Wille said. “I would approach the role with respect for taxpayer trust and a focus on policies that prepare students for life beyond graduation.”

Wille said he hopes his candidacy encourages other students to take interest in local government and school governance.

“Students have a stake in these decisions,” he said. “Being a part of the process helps build stronger schools and a stronger community.”
