Former Egg Harbor Township Board of Education President Doris Dilley announces campaign for Township Committee in 2026
Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey – Former Egg Harbor Township Board of Education (EHT BOE) President Doris Dilley announced her campaign for Egg Harbor Township Committee in the Election 2026.
Dilley, a Republican and resident of Egg Harbor Township for 55 years, is running on minimizing residential buildout, streamlining the permit process, reducing Township spending, ending No-Bid contracts, and attracting more businesses to EHT.
“Our community deserves thoughtful leadership that puts residents first and plans responsibly for our future,” Dilley said. “For too long, rapid residential building has strained our school system, overburdened our transportation infrastructure, and placed increasing pressure on public safety and public works departments, along with their budgets. These increased costs ultimately fall on taxpayers.”
Dilley graduated from Egg Harbor Township High School in 1984. She went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). Dilley is employed at St. Augustine Preparatory School in Atlantic County, working in the business office.
“Egg Harbor Township residents deserve to live in a community where their elected officials recognize, respect, and value their voices, I respectfully ask for your support and most importantly your vote on June 2, 2026,” Dilley said.
Egg Harbor Township is the largest municipality in Atlantic County, with nearly fifty thousand residents. The Township Committee is currently 4-1 Republican.
Doris Dilley was elected to three terms to the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education from 1999 to 2012 and was elected as both Vice President and President by her fellow board members over her tenure. Dilley ran for Egg Harbor Township Committee in Election 2025 and earned 1,416 votes- 315 votes short to eventual Republican Nominee Paul Rosenberg. Rosenberg would go on to lose in the General Election to Democrat Peter Castellano 9,176 to 8,290.
