Governor Mikie Sherrill Endorses Team Dover Slate for Dover Town Council

New Jersey's first female Democratic Governor backs slate that would give Dover its first female-majority Council

DOVER, NJ — Team Dover today proudly announced the endorsement of Governor Mikie Sherrill in the June 2 Democratic primary for Dover Town Council. The endorsement brings the Governor's support to the slate of Sandra Wittner (Ward One), Dr. Krista Seanor (Ward Two), Alice Plastoris (Ward Three), and Elizabeth Tapia (Ward Four) - a ticket that, if successful, would deliver Dover its first female-majority governing body in the town's history.

"I'm thrilled to endorse Team Dover and this next generation of leaders who will work every day to rebuild faith in local government and deliver for Dover residents," said Governor Sherrill. "Sandra Wittner, Dr. Krista Seanor, Alice Plastoris, and Elizabeth Tapia all have deep ties to Dover and understand that residents deserve public servants who are going to put the community first. I'm looking forward to seeing all that they will achieve and encourage everyone to vote for Team Dover on June 2."

In a joint statement, the Team Dover candidates thanked the Governor:

"We are deeply grateful to Governor Sherrill for standing with Team Dover. As New Jersey's first female Democratic governor, she has shown what it looks like to break new ground while staying focused on delivering for the people you serve - and that is exactly the standard we are bringing to Dover. Her endorsement affirms what this campaign has been about from day one: putting residents first, restoring trust in our local government, and getting to work for the people who call Dover home."
