Mayor Andre Sayegh Appoints Daniel Golabek as Business Administrator for the City of Paterson
Paterson, NJ—Mayor Andre Sayegh today announced the appointment of Daniel Golabek as the new Business Administrator for the City of Paterson, effective Monday, January 5, 2026. Golabek arrives in Paterson with a strong background in municipal governance and professional administration.
His career is marked by a deep commitment to public service, having served as a local and county school board member, a Councilmember for nine years (2017-2025), and as Mayor of the Borough of Elmwood Park in 2019. This firsthand experience in elected office provides him with a unique perspective on the intersection of policy-making and operational execution.
Complementing his legislative service, Golabek has held numerous high-level managerial roles within the City of Garfield. He began his professional career as the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Garfield and most recently held the role of Assistant Business Administrator and then, Chief Human Resource Officer for the Garfield Board of Education. In these roles, he was responsible for managing complex budgets and overseeing large-scale personnel operations.
Golabek earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management from Seton Hall University. He furthered his education at Seton Hall Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.), equipping him with a robust legal and strategic foundation to navigate the complexities of municipal administration.
