Mercer County Leaders Endorse Verlina Reynolds-Jackson for Congress
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 2, 2026
Trenton, NJ — A growing coalition of Mercer County mayors and community leaders today announced their endorsement of Verlina Reynolds-Jackson for Congress, citing her proven leadership, deep roots in the community, and long-standing record of fighting for working families.
The endorsements reflect broad confidence in Reynolds-Jackson’s readiness to represent New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District at a pivotal moment, as communities seek steady, principled leadership grounded in experience and accountability.
“I’ve known Verlina since her early days in municipal government, and I have watched her grow into a fierce and principled advocate for her community,” said Senator Shirley Turner. “She has never shied away from a fight when people needed her voice. Verlina leads with compassion, experience, and an unshakable commitment to the families she serves — and she will bring that same strength to Congress.”
Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora, who served alongside Reynolds-Jackson in the Assembly, pointed to her long record of results and representation.
“I served with Verlina in the Legislature, and even then, it was clear she was the right person to fill the Assembly seat. For more than a decade, she has stood up for the residents of Legislative District 15 with determination and integrity. I know she will do the same for the people of Congressional District 12.”
“Verlina brings a rare combination of conviction and collaboration to public service,” said Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann. “She understands the responsibility of leadership and consistently puts people first. At a time when trust in government matters more than ever, Verlina is exactly the kind of leader we need representing our district in Congress.”
“I’ve seen her work up close,” said County Commissioner Kristin McLaughlin, and I know her determination to stand up for the people she serves. Verlina leads with integrity, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to her community.”
“I am deeply honored by the support of my colleagues and friends,” said Reynolds-Jackson. “We have been partners in public service for many years, working together for the good of Mercer County. I look forward to continuing our work with the same strength and integrity in Washington.”
