Millstone Mayor Ray Heck Endorses Shanel Robinson in US House Race

Longtime Millstone Mayor Raymond Heck officially endorsed Shanel Robinson today after ending his bid for the Democratic nod in NJ’s 12th district. Mayor Heck seconded Robinson’s nomination recently at the Somerset County Democratic Organization’s nominating convention.

“I have known Shanel Robinson for well over a decade as an elected official, a military veteran, and a friend. She has always been a leader who fights for the people and delivers on her promises,” said Mayor Heck. “I know Shanel will bring the commitment, innovation, and fire she has shown as Somerset County’s trailblazing Commissioner Director to the United States Congress to make sure the 12th District is heard and supported in Washington, DC.”

Mayor Heck has led the Borough of Millstone since 2007, and has been a statewide leader as president of both the NJ League of Municipalities and the NJ Council of Mayors. He is also a law enforcement professional and a nationally recognized labor leader who knows what it takes to lead at home and nationally.

“I couldn’t be prouder to have the support of Mayor Heck, a leader who has shown time and time again the judgement and energy to make a difference in people's lives,” said Commissioner Director Robinson. “He will bring needed experience in public safety, local government, and labor union leadership to the campaign and my time serving the people of the 12th District in Congress.”
