Morristown Municipal Airport Hosts Third Annual AAAE Northeast Chapter Leadership Symposium

Approximately 20 Emerging Aviation Leaders Gather in Morristown, NJ for Professional Development Program

Morristown, New Jersey – Morristown Municipal Airport (KMMU), operated by DM Airports, Ltd. on behalf of the Town of Morristown, served as host for the third annual Northeast Chapter (NEC) Leadership Symposium of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). The event was held from June 16-18, 2026, at the Hyatt House Morristown in Morristown, New Jersey. The Symposium brought together approximately 20 emerging aviation professionals from across the Northeast region for an intensive leadership development program.

Launched by the AAAE Northeast Chapter in 2024, the Leadership Symposium is designed for aviation professionals with three to seven years of industry experience and at least one year in a supervisory or management role. Now in its third year, the program has become a signature event for workforce development within the Northeast aviation community.

“We take pride in welcoming this group of aviation professionals to Morristown,” said Darren S. Large, A.A.E., ACE, Director of Facilities and Operations at DM Airports, Ltd. “The strength of our region’s aviation community depends on investing in the people who will lead it. Hosting this symposium for the third consecutive year reflects our commitment to that mission.”

The symposium was facilitated by Dr. TJ Holloway of The Holloway Group, who has led the program since its inaugural year in 2024. Dr. Holloway guided participants through three full days of curriculum focused on leadership skills, professional growth, and practical tools for those stepping into greater management responsibility within the aviation sector.

“The professionals in this room are already doing the hard work,” said Dr. TJ Holloway of The Holloway Group. “This symposium gives them space to step back, sharpen their thinking, and connect with peers who are navigating the same challenges. That combination is what makes it effective.”

Participants in the 2026 symposium represented airports and corporate aviation organizations across the Northeast, continuing a tradition of regional collaboration that has defined the program since its founding. The NEC’s Leadership Symposium is part of a broader portfolio of educational and professional development initiatives offered to chapter members.
