New Poll Shows Analilia Mejia with Strong Lead in NJ-11 Special Election as Voters Look Ahead to Taking on Trump Agenda
Mejia leads her opponent by 17 points in overall favorability, including an 11-point lead among independent voters, and holds a 27-point advantage in name recognition.
New Jersey — A new internal poll of likely voters in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District shows Analilia Mejia, the Democratic nominee for NJ-11, with a strong early lead in the upcoming special election to fill the seat vacated by Governor Mikie Sherrill.
According to the survey, Mejia leads her opponent by 17 points and holds an advantage across key demographic groups, including independents, women, white voters, and voters of color. The poll also shows Mejia with significantly higher name recognition by 27 points and a stronger favorability rating among likely voters.
“What I’m hearing from people across New Jersey is clear, folks are ready to come together and take on the challenges coming out of Washington, including standing up to Donald Trump’s agenda,” said Analilia Mejia. “But we have a lot of work ahead of us. This campaign is about showing up, listening, and making sure we’re building something strong enough to deliver real results for working families.”
The survey of 500 likely special election voters was conducted from March 8–10, 2026, and has a margin of error of ±4.4 percentage points.
