NO KINGS ATLANTIC CITY: South Jersey Communities to Unite to Activate Early Voting

Atlantic City, NJ — Empathy United, Atlantic City's local Indivisible chapter, alongside organizing partners the Atlantic City Branch of the NAACP and the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations (ACCEA), will host a No Kings March and Solidarity Gathering in Atlantic City, bringing together residents, grassroots organizations, labor advocates, and community leaders from across South Jersey.

The march will begin on Saturday, October 17th at 3:00 PM at Missouri Avenue and the Atlantic City Boardwalk, proceeding along the Boardwalk before exiting at Albany Avenue. Participants will then gather at O'Donnell Park at approximately 3:30 PM for a solidarity gathering featuring community organizations, local and state leaders, and opportunities for civic engagement.

The Atlantic City gathering will serve as a culminating event following several No Kings actions taking place throughout South Jersey earlier in the day, including:

  • Cape May: 16 E. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House - Caravan 12:00 PM

  • Galloway: 300 East Jimmie Leeds Road 12:00 PM

  • Ocean City: Bay Ave. and East 9th Street 12:00 PM

Organizers hope participants from these events and communities throughout the region will come together in Atlantic City to stand in solidarity with community members most directly impacted by the issues driving the No Kings movement.

"Our goal is to bring people together across communities, organizations, and movements," said organizers from Empathy United. "Atlantic City is home to communities whose voices deserve to be centered in these conversations. We want this gathering to be an opportunity not only to demonstrate solidarity, but to build lasting relationships and connect people with organizations doing important work throughout South Jersey."

Local organizations and community groups have been invited to host informational tables at O'Donnell Park, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about ongoing initiatives, access community resources, and discover ways to become involved in local organizing efforts.

The solidarity gathering will also emphasize civic participation, with opportunities for attendees to commit to voting early in the upcoming election and learn more about making their voices heard.

Scheduled speakers include:

  • Mayor Zack Mullock

  • Tina Dare, Secretary-Treasurer of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA)

  • Jailen Scott, youth leader and member of the NAACP Youth Council

Additional community leaders and representatives of local organizations are expected to participate.

Participants are welcome to join the entire march and solidarity gathering or attend whichever portion of the event works best for them.

The event is open to the public. Organizers encourage South Jersey residents to come together, connect with neighbors, learn about community organizations, and participate in an afternoon of peaceful assembly and civic engagement.
