Official Statement from Michael Roth for Congress On New Jersey and Roxbury vs. ICE and DHS

“I want to thank Governor Mikie Sherrill and the local leaders in Roxbury for showing what real leadership looks like. When Roxbury was blindsided by a reckless plan to force a massive detention center into their town, they decided to stand up and fight back. Roxbury’s Republican mayor and council made clear this site is not appropriate for their community, and Governor Sherrill acted by taking the fight to court. That is leadership. 

“Tom Kean Jr. had a chance to stand with his constituents and stop this before it got to this point. He failed. NJ-07 deserves a representative who will fight for our towns before Washington steamrolls them, not after.”
