Prominent Muslim Leaders Across New Jersey Endorse Ali Aljarrah for Passaic County Commissioner

LITTLE FALLS, NJ — Today, Ali Aljarrah, Democratic candidate for Passaic County Commissioner, was endorsed by a coalition of the most prominent Muslim civic groups and leaders across the state, including Emgage Action, New Jersey Muslim Civic Coalition - Activate, and CAIR Action NJ.

The Muslim vote has proven itself to be a critical voting bloc in Passaic County and the rest of New Jersey, and this united front behind one of their own solidifies Aljarrah’s status as the progressive frontrunner in the race.

“Ali Aljarrah is guided by the very same ideals and principles that animate the best of us: a desire to serve others, a strong belief in justice, and a determination to see that justice through,” said Dr. Ahmad Qatanani in a statement. “It is all too rare to see young people in politics, let alone young people with the clarity of convictions that Ali holds. I trust him as a voter and a person of faith to represent us, and I offer him my full support.”

“I support Ali Aljarrah because he is a true champion for justice and equal rights for all people,” said civil rights advocate Diab Mustafa.  Ali has consistently stood with the Palestinian community when it mattered most, especially in opposing the harmful NJ IHRA definition and defending the principles of free speech, human rights, and justice. He is a leader who shows up, speaks up, and stands firmly with all communities.”

“Ali Aljarrah represents a new generation of leadership that is grounded in service, integrity, and a real understanding,” said Muslim leader Ibrahim Fahmy. “I am proud to stand behind someone who is ready to fight for a stronger Passaic County for everyone.”

“New Jersey Muslim Civic Coalition — Activate (NJMCC-A) proudly endorses Ali Aljarrah for Passaic County Commissioner,” said NJMCC-A in a statement. “We support leaders who listen, stay accessible, and lead with integrity, focused on serving the community with fairness and accountability.”

"Ali has proven himself to be a champion for marginalized communities for years,” said Aly Azhar, NJ Organizing Manager at Emgage Action. “From fighting to preserve free speech rights, for immigrant justice protections, to clean energy policies to ensure a sustainable future, Ali has been a tireless advocate and will serve Passaic County with the dignity, exceptionalism, and professionalism that the county residents deserve."

For years, I have watched Ali Aljarrah serve our community with compassion, courage, and a deep sense of purpose far beyond his years,” said Muslim leader Salaheddin (Salah) Mustafa. “I am proud to endorse him for Passaic County Commissioner, and I truly believe he will be the principled change agent our county needs and deserves.”

“We're proud to endorse one of our own - Ali Aljarrah for Passaic County Commissioner,” said CAIR Action NJ in a statement. “As Senior Advisor at CAIR Action NJ, Ali has stood with us through some of the toughest fights in the state — defending First Amendment rights, protecting immigrant families, and holding polluters accountable. Now he's running to build affordable housing and protect renters, fix our dangerous roads, clean the Passaic River, expand food assistance, and stand up to the Trump administration.”

The primary election is on June 2, 2026.
