Quinones Perez Backs Mejia, who Leads Malinowski in CD-11

Attorney Arlene Quinones Perez, former chair of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee, over the weekend formally endorsed Analilia Mejia for Congress in CD-11.

In a Facebook video post, Quinones Perez said, "I am so proud to have this strong Latina running in this election. I really look forward to supporting her throughout this time but also in April, when she wins then, in June, when she kicks ass then, and in November."

Quinones Perez described Mejia's campaign for the seat formerly occupied by Mikie Sherrill as a "boss b**ch move."

"She did an amazing job," said the former Hunterdon party chair. "She wasn't known in that CD-11 circle as well as others and to have come in later in the game than other candidates and do what she is doing - there are no words to describe it."

In the special Democratic Primary election held on Thursday, as yet unresolved, Mejia leads her rival Tom Malinowski by 868 votes.

Malinowski served as Hunterdon Democratic chairman after the long-serving Quinones Perez. A former congressman, he moved from his CD-7 location, which serves all of Hunterdon, to run in CD-11.
