Statement by Governor Murphy on the Passing of Linda Callahan
"Tammy and I are heartbroken by the passing of Linda Callahan.
"Linda and her husband, recently retired New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Pat Callahan, devoted more than three decades to serving the people of our state — and in that time, they became dear friends to us and to so many across New Jersey. High school sweethearts, Pat and Linda built a life together defined by love, partnership, and an unwavering commitment to service.
"A woman of deep faith and enduring strength, Linda upheld her values every day. After surviving the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, she drew from her experience to take meaningful action — raising awareness and building upon her lifelong commitment to volunteerism. She deeply believed in helping those in need and worked tirelessly to make the world more compassionate and just. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
"We are sending our heartfelt condolences and prayers to Pat, their four beloved children, and their grandchildren during this incredibly difficult time."
