Statement by NJ CD12 Candidate Shanel Y. Robinson

As an Air Force veteran and an American, I stand with our troops and pray they all return home safely from Donald J. Trump’s unauthorized war against Iran.

This President has committed this country to a war of choice in clear violation of the United States Constitution, which places the power to declare war solely in the hands of Congress. While Iran is a destabilizing force in the Middle East, there is no imminent threat that justifies bypassing Congress and the American people to take us to war.

Congress must immediately retake its Constitutional authority and make clear to President Trump that he is neither a dictator nor a king.
