Statement from Councilwoman At-Large Crystal M. Feliciano in Support of Governor Mikie Sherrill and Executive Order No. 5

Today, Governor Mikie Sherrill’s 100th day in office, she held a press conference at the Department of Environmental Protection highlighting her administration’s progress in implementing Executive Order No. 5, which she executed on January 20th.

I, along with Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli, Mayor Reed Gusciora, Council President Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg and a host of other elected officials were in attendance.  As a Councilwoman At -Large in the City of Trenton, I strongly support this executive order and Governor Mikie Sherrill’s leadership in advancing policies that promote equity, accountability, and opportunity for all New Jersey residents.

By executing this order, the Governor is helping to strengthen transparency and fairness in government operations.  She has identified areas that need immediate attention in helping businesses, such as communication, transparency, and simplifying and modernizing the State’s regulatory process to help projects move forward throughout the state.  Executive Order No. 5 helps foster a framework that encourages integrity, inclusivity, and accountability across all levels of government.

I want to thank the Governor and her administration for their commitment to policies that uplift our communities and create pathways for sustainable progress. As a municipal leader, I remain committed to working collaboratively with our state partners, my Council colleagues, and the Mayor and his administration to ensure that the intent of this order is realized in ways that directly benefit the residents of Trenton.

Together, we will continue building a stronger, more transparent, and more equitable New Jersey for all.
