Statement from NJ Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan on Disbursement of Funds for the Hudson Tunnel Project

“We’ve just received the news we have been waiting for: The federal government has released contractually agreed-upon funds, and we anticipate work on the Hudson Tunnel Project will resume next week.

Today is a win for the skilled trades workers, engineers, contractors and suppliers who are delivering one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country. These are careers that support families, strengthen local businesses and drive economic growth on both sides of the Hudson River.

The Hudson Tunnel Project is about reliability, safety and keeping the Northeast Corridor moving. Resuming construction puts us back on track and restores momentum to a project that is critical to our region and the nation.

We are grateful that this is the conversation we can now have moving forward — not about politics, delays or uncertainty. Today is about progress, paychecks and building infrastructure that will serve generations to come.”
